What is TryOuts?

TryOuts is the new way to shop JackThreads. You get to try on merchandise — making sure that it fits, looks good on you, and that you want to keep it — before paying for it. Browse our site or app and choose items you’re interested in seeing in real life. We’ll ship everything to you for free. While we keep your billing info on hand, you pay $0 for the items you choose to try. You’ll have a week to try everything on. After your weeklong TryOut period, ship back what you don’t want and we only bill you for what you’ve kept. It’s our way of bringing the fitting room to you.

Just as important, we’ve made sending back anything you’re not keeping very, very easy. Included in your TryOut is a prepaid return shipping label, tape to reseal the box, and a spare shipping bag — everything you need to send things back. It’s free to try, so you’re encouraged to order more than you normally would and expect to send some things back. Go nuts!

When do I pay for items I keep?

You can pay for the items you’re keeping before your TryOut period is over by accessing the “Tell Us What You’re Keeping” form on your Order Details page on the JackThreads website and submitting the details (which you can also access via the emails you receive from JackThreads during your TryOut period). However, if after JackThreads receives your send back package, the items do not match what you tell us is being sent back, you will be charged or credited accordingly to the payment method selected upon submitting your TryOut order.

If your send back package is mailed out before the end of your TryOut period, and is received by JackThreads without you having submitted the “Tell Us What You’re Keeping” form, you will only be charged for the items you have kept from your TryOut order

If you have not submitted the “Tell Us What You’re Keeping” form or mailed your send back package by the end of your TryOut period you will be charged for the total amount of all items in your TryOut order. However, you can still return items according to our Returns & Exchanges policy below.


Can I really try it out? Like wear it out to the bar?

TryOuts aren’t a test drive. Try it on, just don’t wear it out.

We check all items sent back to us for signs of wear and will charge you for anything that’s not in new condition. Anything you send back has to be unworn, unwashed, undamaged, and have its original tags and packaging.


How do I send back things I don’t want to keep?

Your TryOut comes with everything you need to send things back — a prepaid return shipping label, tape to seal up your box, and a spare shipping bag. No need for a printer, packing tape, or pre-scheduled pick-up. Easy.

You will not be billed for items sent back before the end of your TryOut period that are received in their original condition. All items sent back must be in their original condition — unwashed, unworn, with tags attached, in their original packaging (like a shoebox), etc.


Can I still return an item after I pay for it?

Yes. Unless an item has been marked Final Sale, you will have 30 days from the date of delivery to return it. At that point, the item will have already been paid for and is treated like a traditional return. See the Returns section below for additional details.


TRYOUT BILLING POLICY (The legal stuff)

We only charge you for items you haven’t sent back to us within 7 days of your order being delivered. You’ll receive an email from us confirming the start date for your TryOut period based on that date of delivery. If any of your TryOut items have not been postmarked for return to us within 7 days of delivery, we will consider such items to have been purchased by you and you will be charged according to your chosen payment method. Returns & Exchanges

How and what you can return all depends on where you call home. Just follow one of the links below to learn about the return policy for your region.

Holiday Return Policy

During the holiday season, returns are accepted anytime through January 31st for orders placed after November 27th at 12pm EST to accommodate any gifts that you or your friends and family didn't fall completely in love with. As long as the return arrives at our warehouse by January 31st, we’ll honor it with an exchange or store credit. If you’ve got gear that you need to send back, whether it’s a gift for someone else or a gift you received, you can find our full return policy here. If you're having any trouble with a return placed during the holidays, just reach out to our customer service team and they'll be happy to assist.

US Returns and Exchanges

Returns and exchanges are accepted within 30 days of your order having been delivered. We accept returns for items that have not been worn, altered, washed, or damaged. Items marked FINAL SALE are not eligible for return or exchange.

Footwear returns must include the original shoebox in its original condition and without postal labels, meaning you should ship it back to us inside another box (the same way we shipped it to you). Damages to or omission of this box from your return will result in your return not being accepted.

Refunds

If your merchandise doesn't fit or you don't love it for any reason, we'll cover the return shipping. The Returns section in your account makes it easy to get started: select the items you wish to return, select a return reason, and place the pre-paid return label, found in the original box, on your package. When we receive your return, we'll process a refund to the original form of payment.

Store Credit

If, after paying for an item, you find that there’s an issue, we'll cover the return shipping. When we receive your return, we'll process a full refund to for the price you paid for the merchandise to your JackThreads account, as well as a $5 bonus credit.

Exchanges

If you decide that you need a different size or want to try a different style and are interested in returning an item in exchange for something else, our customer service team is here to help. We'll help you place an order for the new item, and we'll ship it out for free. Once we receive your return package, you will receive a refund for the price of the exchange item to your original method of payment. Wrong, Damaged or Defective Items

If you received the wrong product from JackThreads, or it arrived defective or damaged, please contact customer service as soon as possible. We will make sure that the situation is resolved for you.

* If you choose not to use the prepaid label, we recommend that you use a shipping service with tracking and/or insurance, as this will provide you with recourse in the event that your package is lost or damaged in transit (JackThreads will not be responsible).

Canadian Returns

Returns are accepted within 30 days from the shipping date. We accept returns for items that have not been worn, altered, washed, or damaged. Items marked FINAL SALE are not eligible for return.

Orders originally placed in USD will be refunded in USD for the value of the select items returned. Orders placed in CAD will be issued for the CAD value of the items returned, at the same foreign exchange rate utilized at the time of initial purchase.

Canada Return Details

Our warehouse is located in NY, but we don't want you to incur any additional fees if you need to return some gear. If you ship your return to our Canadian return address, listed below, our shipping partner will take it from there and get your package to our New York warehouse.

Canadian customers are responsible for return shipping costs. We recommend that you use a service with tracking and/or insurance, as this will provide you with recourse in the event that your package is lost in transit JackThreads will not be responsible for missing packages.
