What is TryOuts?

TryOuts is the new way to shop JackThreads. You get to try on merchandise — making sure that it fits and looks good on you — before paying for it. Browse our site or app and choose items you’re interested in seeing in real life. We’ll ship those items to you for free. While we take your billing information, you pay $0 for the items you choose to try. You’ll have a week to try everything on. After a week, you ship back what you don’t want and we only bill you for what you’re keeping. It’s our way of bringing the fitting room to you.

Just as important, we’ve made sending back anything you’re not keeping free and very easy. Included with your TryOut is everything you need to send things back for free. That includes a prepaid return shipping label,tape to reseal the box, and a spare shipping bag. It’s free to try, so you’re encouraged to order more than you normally would and expect to send some things back. Go nuts!

When do you pay for items you keep?

1) Settle up when you want.

You can choose to pay before your TryOut period is over by accessing the “Tell Us What You’re Keeping” form in the Order Details page of your JackThreads account, or from the emails you receive from JackThreads during your TryOut. If you use the ”Tell Us What You’re Keeping” form and send back the items you’re not keeping within a week, you will only pay for the items you have kept.

If your send back package is not mailed out by the end of your TryOut period, or if the contents of your send back package do not match what you told us you would be sending back, you will pay a second time for the additional items. Your TryOut will be billed to the payment method you selected upon placing your TryOut order.

2) Settle up later.

If you send back the items you’re not keeping before the end of your TryOut Period and do not complete the “Tell Us What You’re Keeping” form, you will be charged after your package has been processed by our warehouse and we have determined whether you have kept anything. Your TryOut will be billed to the payment method you selected upon placing your TryOut order.


Can I really Try It Out? Like wear it out to the bar?

We want you to be confident in what you pay for, so try everything on at home, but don’t wear anything out unless you’re planning to pay for it and add it to your closet. You will be charged for any merchandise that is washed, worn, damaged, or missing tags.

This is especially important with shoes. Try on shoes in a dust-free, preferably carpeted area of the floor.


We Keep Saying Sending Back Items is Easy. How Easy?

Your TryOut begins on the day that your package is delivered, or when you receive an email from us letting you know that your TryOut period has begun.

You may send back any item in your TryOut at any point within a week of it being delivered. We’ll send you email to remind you of the date by which items must be mailed out to avoid being charged. All items sent back must be in their original condition (unwashed, unworn, with tags attached, in the original shoebox, etc).

Your TryOut comes with everything you need to send things back — a prepaid return shipping label, tape to seal up your box, and a spare shipping bag. Easy.

You will not be billed for items sent back before the end of your TryOut period that are received in their original condition.


Can I still return an item after I pay for it?

Yes. Unless an item is marked Final Sale, you will have 30 days after the item has been delivered to return it. At that point, the item has already been paid for and is treated like a traditional return. You send it back and receive a refund or store credit once our warehouse has processed it. See the return section below for additional details.


TRYOUT BILLING POLICY (The legal stuff)

We only charge you for items you haven’t sent back to us within 7 days of your order being delivered. You’ll receive an email from us confirming the start date for your TryOut period based on that date of delivery. If any of your TryOut items have not been postmarked for return to us within 7 days of delivery, we will consider such items to have been purchased by you and you will be charged according to your chosen payment method. Returns & Exchanges

US Returns and Exchanges

Returns and exchanges are accepted within 30 days of being delivered. We accept returns for items that have not been worn, altered, washed, or damaged. Items marked FINAL SALE are not eligible for return or exchange.

Footwear returns must include the original shoe box in its original condition and without postal labels, meaning you should ship it back to us inside another box the same way we shipped it to you. Damages to or omission of this box from your return will result in your return not being accepted.

Store Credit

If your merchandise doesn't fit or you don't love it for any reason, we'll cover the return shipping. When we receive your return, we'll process a full refund for the price you paid for the merchandise, as well as a $5 bonus in the form of a JackThreads store credit.

Exchanges

If you need a different size or want to try a different style and are interested in returning an item in exchange for something else on the site, our customer service team is here to help. We'll help you place an order for the new item, and we'll ship it out for free. Simply call us at 800.636.5225 or click here to see if we are available to chat.

When we receive your package, we'll process a full refund for the item price of the exchange item to your original form of payment.

Refunds

If your merchandise doesn't fit or you don't love it for any reason, we'll cover the return shipping. The Returns section in your account makes it easy to get started: select the items you wish to return and select a return reason. When we receive your return, we'll process a refund to the original form of payment.

Wrong, Damaged or Defective Items

If you received the wrong product from JackThreads, or it arrived defective or damaged, please contact customer service as soon as possible. We will make sure that the situation is resolved for you.

Canadian Returns

Returns are accepted within 30 days from the shipping date. We accept returns for items that have not been worn, altered, washed, or damaged. Items marked FINAL SALE are not eligible for return.

Canada Return Details

Our warehouse is located in NY, but we don't want you to incur any additional fees if you need to return some gear. If you ship your return to our Canadian return address, listed below, our shipping partner will take it from there and get your package to our New York warehouse.

Canadian customers are responsible for return shipping costs. We recommend that you use a service with tracking and/or insurance, as this will provide you with recourse in the event that your package is lost in transit JackThreads will not be responsible for missing packages.
